Organic Chia Preserves Recipe

Y’all, these are delicious and packed with nutrition!! I always have frozen fruit in the freezer. I buy organic fruits when on sale and usually end up with too much so in the freezer it goes. I’ll then pull them out for smoothies or recipes like the one I’m about to share with you! 

For the preserves:

1/2 cup of frozen blueberries & raspberries. Just set them on the counter to thaw. 

When you think they are soft enough to mash with a fork place them in separate bowls and start mashing to release all the juice.

Add a pinch of vanilla extract and (very optional) a low glycemic sugar like blue agave. If you’re going to do this get a good brand and go organic.

Next add anywhere from 2-3 tablespoons of chia seeds whole (You do not need to ground chia as once they are absorbed in the liquid they will release all their amazing properties).

Let stand in the fridge for about 10-15 minutes before topping your favorite delights!!
